Second Corporate "Town Meeting" Planned for Feb 24th, 2000

This meeting was originally planned for Jan 31st, but was rescheduled due to the weather.

Panda Perkiomen has called a town meeting for Thursday, Feb 24th, 7:00 pm at the Upper Perkiomen High School auditorium (2 Walt Road, Pennsburg, PA). This is the second town meeting to discuss the 1,000 megawatt power plant proposed for the village of Palm (Upper Hanover Township, Montgomery County). Partners for Community Preservation, a grassroots community wide organization opposing the power plant, requests your help to STOP THE STACKS. Panda Perkiomen representatives have openly stated that the 500 people who attended the Nov. 17, 1999, town meeting were not enough people to impress them. Come and be counted and voice your concerns about this colossal monument to over development. The sketch plan was submitted to Upper Hanover Township on Wednesday, Jan. 12. WE NEED YOU on Feb. 24--help us make a difference.

Also, Partners for Community Preservation will be holding a 6:30pm press conference at the Upper Perkiomen High School (lobby of the auditorium) in advance of the town meeting. We will be delivering a statement to the press and answering questions. Press kits will be available.
